Admissions

Application form to the RMT Program

Admission to all training programs is limited in order to maximize the quality of training and personal interaction. Admission to the school is completely at the discretion of the Admissions Committee, which meets regularly to accept applicants it considers most qualified for, and compatible with, the Kiné-Concept Institute environment and the profession of massage therapy. Kiné-Concept Institute does not discriminate against any applicant on the basis of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, religion, national or ethnic origin. The basic requirements for admission are described below.

Age
Applicants must be 17 or older at the time of registration. Applicants under the age of 18 must have written parental consent.

Education
High school or equivalency of a Canadian high school diploma is required. All applicants must provide either a high school transcript, GED, or college transcript with degree, as proof of graduation from high school before the Admissions Committee can consider the application. Foreign students who apply to Kiné-Concept Institute bear the responsibility of providing documentation which confirms that their educational credential is the equivalent of a high school diploma.

Health
Applicants must be physically capable of performing massage techniques, as determined by Kiné-Concept Institute . An applicant may be required to have a physical examination, attend a Kiné-Concept Institute basic introductory workshop, give a practical demonstration of physical ability, etc. Applicants must be in good health, free of communicable disease, and free of any condition, physical or otherwise, which would reasonably prevent use of the knowledge or skills gained from training for successful work performance after completion of the program. A completed Health History Form must be returned to Kiné-Concept Institute, by the applicant, after acceptance to the program, and before signing the Enrollment Agreement.

Professional Massage Session
It is strongly recommended that all applicants must have already received at least one professional massage therapy session within one year prior to application.

Interview
Applicants may be called into the school to have an interview with the Administrative Director. For personal tours of the school, please call the Administration Office and schedule a date and time.

Application
To complete the admissions process the applicant must complete and submit the following:

1. Application form
2. High school and/or University transcripts
3. 3 letters of reference

Acceptance Notification
Following the submission of a completed application, the Admissions Committee will review it at its next scheduled meeting. The applicant will be notified of acceptance within thirty days after the meeting. At this time, the applicant will receive a conditional letter of acceptance, a Health History and Registration Form. The prospective student must complete and return the forms to Kiné-Concept Institute.

Registration
Registration is accomplished when Kiné-Concept Institute receives a signed and completed registration form, and a $100.00 registration fee. A $289.00 tuition deposit must be made, 30 days before the start of the program, to complete the final step of the enrollment process.
