Establishes the acts of chiropractic practice such as: corrections to the vertebral column, the pelvic bones or other joints of the body through the use of hands.

Definition 7 of the Chiropractic Act stipulates that: "A chiropractor may determine by clinical and radiological examination of the spinal column, pelvic bones and other joints of the human body, the chiropractic treatment indicated. However, a chiropractor shall not make radiological examinations unless he holds a radiology permit issued in accordance with section 187 of the Professional Code."

PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION OF QUÉBEC ORTHOTHERAPISTS

This professional association requires 1,000 hours of training for certification. Prospective students must successfully pass an entry exam. Members are governed by a professional code of ethics.

Orthotherapy was developed and structured in the U.S. by Dr. Arthur Michele. Orthotherapy is first and foremost a preventive technique, based on Swedish massage and both passive and active-contrasting movements. Exercises play a fundamental role in orthotherapeutic treatments.
